I started out making a fly rod for my teenage son, Jacob, who taught me how to fly fish.  Next, I started making fishing rods as a hobby, making gifts for family members and friends who started showing off their rods. My passion for fishing started while growing up in Door County, Wisconsin, on the shores of Lake Michigan, where I had many exciting fishing experiences and opportunities - whether it was catching early season salmon, going to my favorite honey hole for bass, or coming home with my  limit of fat perch.
